typography animation part 1 & 2 review

As a start to my animation i rendered out two parts. Since my animation will consist of my poem creating the RSPCA logo i did the 'R' and the 'S' with parts of the poem which will make up the revealing of the logo, I still need to add the sound and alter the speed of certain areas but it gives me a good starting point.

typography animation storyboard

Generating my idea for my final animation piece i created a rough story board sketch of the actions within my animation. The animation is going to be around 4 minutes so i did 12 sections to show it from start to finish.

coding project for Spencer part 4

This part i created a code which allowed multiple texts simultaneously.

coding project for Spencer part 3

This part i created a code which made the type appear inflated then back to normal size to create a sentence.

coding project for Spencer part 2

For this part i created a code which made the type appear and cross with each other.

coding project for Spencer part 1

For this part i created a code to generate a type that appears from left to right.

coding project for James

In this first section above James Dyer session of the Processing workshop we explored
shapes, colours and sizes. Experimented what each piece of code and explored
for every code used what its outcome would create.

In this section above the code we created was to experiment when using the numbers
on a keyboard, how it would change the size and colour of the dot. If the mouse button on the pc/laptop is held down and dragged along it creates a pattern like formation.

Finally in this section above as you can see there are multiple images all different as the mouse on the pc/laptop is hovered over each grid the image changes and it is adapted with audio.

D & AD

For my D&AD project i decided to go with the Adobe brief where i take a past experience which effected me and i became stronger and reimagine it and tell the story within 3 posters.
I chose my fight and overcoming of depression and how a friend or a loved one can help you through it if you let them.
The morale to my story is someone is always there to help you whether thats a friend a loved one or even a stranger you just have to allow them to help otherwise the mental health issue can consume you!
I had the idea of creating a story like scenario where you witness what i went through first hand. I was photographed in various poses and i then edited them on photoshop (using Adobe's software within the brief they set) i cleverly created the illusion of my story being read in a book and created 6 stills within 3 posters!

jekyll & hyde project

For my Jekyll and Hyde i worked alone and came up with an interesting animation piece, once i created my jekyll and my hyde characters i printed my hyde on the other side of the paper i printed jekyll but the image flipped so when it was held up to light hyde would appear behind jekyll.
Once i printed them i used a backlight in a satellite room then applied the backlight and came across an interesting effect, i then uploaded the video on after effects and tweaked it and the final result was rather fantastic!

new and improved stills!!

With my example stills created and perfected in the style i thought was best i then photographed Sophie, my friends fun loving and beautiful dog in various poses to use her as the centrepiece of my stills!
previously i reached out to Dogs Trust and RSPCA both frustratingly rejecting me to take a dog for a walk and take a few photographs and learn more about the stories of a few of the dogs.

These only being a couple of my stills i believe the consistency of using the same dog throughout brings them to a whole new level, the message really shines through. With my other example stills they were quite disjointed and didn't really connect to each other apart from the poem so with these i worked on making them all link together not only to each verse but to each other.
